Now Blooming at the Lake

April 1, 2025

Flower season is coming....

Dahlia tubers are waking up, seeds are sprouting in the shed and my new mini greenhouse. More to come after I return from vacation....

This season I hope to do a better job of documenting my steps from early planning, seed starting, planting, each stage of growing, harvesting, and putting to bed at season end.

As you follow my gardens progress, my hope is that you find a bit of inspiration for your own gardens, learn something new and helpful, or simply enjoy the beauty of my flowers.

I have managed to have a bunch of flower fun this winter. I've played with creating household decor from the flowers I dried and pressed last season.

In March and April I plan to offer informal gatherings in my fully heated garage to stop out and create with me.

As always, I encourage you, my flower friends, to reach out to me with questions, ideas, interests, or simply to talk flowers.

Julie

Welcome to my Blog,
Blooms Along the Lake

I'm a home gardener that loves cut flowers. Discover the beauty of blooms with me as I garden on the shores of Lake Edward in the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota.

I enjoy gifting my flowers to friends, neighbors, seniors, kids, and flower fans of all kinds. Check out information on gardening, dahlias, and more on the blog. I update each topic regularly, so check back every now and then for more details, links, and helpful resources.

I do this just for the fun & love of sharing my flowers, bouquet making, and tips and tricks I've learned along the way. I do not sell my flowers, only give them away for the joy they bring.

I host events July through October to share my flowers in the community

  • Bouquet Making & Flower Give-Aways at my home garden

  • Flowers for the community groups (especially non-profits & seniors)

  • Opportunities to Share Flowers in the community
